With CES 2015 nearly over, the hubbub's starting to die down, which is why it's the perfect time to report on news that slipped through the cracks. The announcement NVIDIA made that they're releasing a new graphics card model for their mobile GeForce GTX 900M series definitely falls in this category.

Following its naming conventions, the GeForce GTX 965M is the newest card in the line, it's also the weakest. According to statements made by NVIDIA, the GeForce GTX 965M will be about 35% weaker than the GeForce GTX 970M and about 70% behind the flagship GeForce GTX 980M. Take a look at the basic specs below.

NVIDIA's hasn't revealed exactly what architecture the 965M will be based on, though speculation online seems to mostly agree that like the previous cards in NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 900M series, it too will be based on the GM204. We also don't know what's the TDP from the new card, though it should be lower than the other cards in the series.

We've already reported about a couple of new notebooks that will be using the 965M, such as offerings from Gigabyte's P3 series of gaming notebooks and Aorus' newly announced X5, a machine in Aorus' X series of SLI notebooks.

We'll have a more in-depth look of the card's performance capabilities once we get our hands on a machine that has it.
