Angry Birds has been a smash hit for Rovio. The Finnish company has seen its most popular release take the world by storm with more than a billion downloads and licensed products such as clothing and toys arriving in its wake. But the game is close to three years old and Rovio has decided to put a new spin on the popular franchise by letting players play as the pigs in its new release, Bad Piggies.
The game will feature new gameplay and it's safe to say you won't see a single slingshot around. It will be launched on 27 September for iOS, Android and Mac. Windows Phone, Windows 8 and PC versions are also in the works and should be released shortly after.
“There’s a lot of empathy towards the lovable enemies from the Angry Birds games, and we’ve been constantly asked: what about the pigs’ side of the story?” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio.
