The Samsung Galaxy S5 is going to get a smaller variant and the latest leaks spilled the beans on what to expect on the upcoming handset.
Thanks to an anonymous tipster, SamMobile was able to obtain a heap of information such as photos, screenshots and benchmark scores. To start things off, the Galaxy S5 Mini is revealed to be powered by an unannounced Samsung Exynos 3 Quad (Exynos 3470) processor with a clock speed of 1.4GHz, Mali-400P MP4 GPU, 1.5GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Like the Galaxy S5, the mini variant will come with a fingerprint scanner, a heart rate sensor, and IP67 ratings for water and dust resistance. The Galaxy S5 Mini sports a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED HD (1,280 x 720 pixels) display, 16GB internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, IR blaster, NFC, GPS with A-GPS support.
The tipster did not mention any launch dates, but previous rumors pointed to a launch this month. Besides the Galaxy S5 Mini, Samsung is also working on a higher end variant of the Galaxy S5 for release in September.
