Rumors of an affordable iPhone model have been circulating for some time and it's only a matter of time before images of the device surface.
According to MacRumors, French website nowhereelse.fr obtained several photos of the rear cover of Apple's alleged affordable iPhone model. Although there is a possibility that these rear covers are simply duplicates of the existing iPhone 5, there are physical evidence that prove otherwise.
There are certain features spotted on the plastic rear covers that differ from that of the iPhone 5 such as the rounded rear microphone hole and rounded rear edges that are consistent with the leaked design blue prints from a case manufacturer.
The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, DigiTimes and Reuters have reported that Apple is making progress on its plan to develop a more affordable iPhone model and could possibly launch it later this year. To keep manufacturing costs low, the more affordable model will be built with polycarbonate plastic. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also shared similiar predictions for the iPhones this year.
