Philips Announces G-Sync Capable and 4K UHD Monitors
Philips has revealed two PC monitors at CES 2014. For avid PC gamers, there is the 27-inch, NVIDIA G-Sync capable gaming monitor. The other is a 28-inch, 4K Ultra HD display.
The Philips 272G5DYEB 27-inch display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Besides supporting NVIDIA G-Sync technology for stutter-free display, it has a refresh rate of 144Hz, and a response time of 5ms. It has a single DisplayPort port.
The second display revealed is the Philips UltraClear 288P6. This 28-inch, widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) 4K monitor has a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. It has a TN-based panel, and is capable of delivering 8-bit color. For video connectivity options, the monitor has a D-Sub port, a MHL-HDMI port, a dual link DVI-D one, and a mini-DisplayPort port. The monitor also comes with four USB ports; a pair of USB 3.0, and a pair of USB 2.0 ones. There are two built-in speakers to provide audio output.
In terms of availability, both monitors will ship in spring this year. The Philips 272G5DYEB gaming monitor has a SRP of US$649, and the Philips UltraClear 288P6 will cost about US$1,200.
