Pay for your taxi rides using QR codes and the DBS PayLah app
Pay for your taxi rides using QR codes and DBS PayLah
Starting today, you can pay for taxi rides on all ComfortDelGro taxis using QR codes and the DBS PayLah app (iOS, Android). Just scan the QR code with the app, and assuming you have enough cash in the PayLah mobile wallet, the payment goes through immediately, no credit or debit card needed.
Although PayLah is an app from DBS/POSB bank, non-DBS/POSB account holders can also use PayLah if they have a savings/current account with a bank which offers FAST (Fast and Secure Transfers) services in Singapore.
That’s because PayLah is a mobile wallet that you have to top up funds into in order to spend it. Launched in 2014, PayLah introduced QR code payments in April. PayLah users can scan merchant QR codes to pay for items, and they can also generate their own QR codes to request for payment.
DBS/POSB is offering some launch incentives for paying for their ComfortDelGro rides with the app. The first 60,000 customers who use DBS PayLah to pay for their taxi ride will get up to S$15 cash back from 10 August onwards, and the first 1,000 unique passengers to book via the ComfortDelGro App and pay using PayLah will receive a S$20 promo code.
And the S$0.30 administrative charges for payment via PayLah will be waived until the end of the year — customers will find the rebate at the end of every month.
