The Panasonic Viera EZ1002 4K OLED TV supports HDR10 and HLG HDR formats

LG and Sony aren’t the only ones to announce new OLED TVs at CES 2017. The other top TV maker to out an 4K OLED model is Panasonic, with its Viera EZ1002 (or EZ1000 in the US).

With double the brightness of regular OLED panels (I suppose not far off from LG's best OLEDs' 800-ish nits) and covering "virtually the entire spectrum of colors" of DCI-P3, the Panasonic EZ1002 also supports HDR10 and Hybrid Log-Gamma, though not the Dolby Vision HDR format.

In addition, it uses Panasonic’s own Studio Colour HCX2 video processing chip, has an Absolute Black Filter to counter flare and effects of ambient light, and offers plenty of calibration controls for pro users. It’s also equipped with a “Dynamic Blade” soundbar designed by Panasonic’s Technics audio division. This audio system houses eight woofers, four squawkers, two tweeters, as well as a quad passive radiator for a stronger bass.

The 65-inch EZ1002 is expected to go on sale in Europe in June 2017. There’s no word yet from Panasonic Singapore on whether it would carry the TV here.
