Panasonic announces the Lumix DMC-GF5.

Equipped with a newly developed 12.1-megapixel Live MOS which enables for high sensitivity signal processing, the camera includes optimization of on-tip filter which provides image recording with even higher sensitivity at max. ISO12800. Incorporating the improved Venus Engine, the GF5 combines 3DNR with MNR to ensure that images shot gets reproduced with minimal noise, regardless of lighting conditions.

Capable of recording 1920 x 1080 at 60i Full HD videos in AVCHD format, the dedicated video record button allows users to instantly record videos while still shooting photos. Also, the camera features high quality sound, recorded with Dolby Digital Stereo Creator. The camera also comes with a 3.0-inch, 920,000 dots high-precision touch display and integrated graphic engine. Users can even select an image to use as a wallpaper behind the menu screen, like in mobile phones.

Besides the usual black, white, and brown, the DMC-GF5 comes in additional two new colors - red and gold.
