Panasonic announces the launch of the Lumix DC-GX9K

Panasonic’s latest mirrorless camera - the Lumix DC-GX9K – is a sleek new interchangeable lens camera that comes with a 20.3MP Digital Live MOS sensor without low-pass filter. That’s again paired with a Venus Engine processor that allows it to operate in sensitivity ranges of ISO200 to ISO 25,600, extendable down to ISO 100.

Like the Lumix DMC-GX8, the Lumix GX9 again comes with Dual I.S. capabilities, combining five-axis in-body stabilization with lens-based stabilization for even greater effect. According to the website, the combination allows for up to four stops of shutter speed compensation, making it easier to get great shots in low light.

Of course, you’ll get Panasonic’s Depth from Defocus (DFD) technology for faster, more precise autofocus performance too. Panasonic says the Lumix GX9 will get faster AF speeds of up to 0.07 seconds and burst shooting with continuous autofocus at up to 6 frames per second.

In terms of handling, the GX9 again maintains the tiltable Live View Finder (LVF) with 2760-dot equivalent high resolution and approximately 100% color reproduction. There’s also a large 3.0”, 1240-dot static-type touch monitor that tilts upwards 80 degrees and downwards 45 degrees, offering you more options for your photography.

No local price and availability information as yet, but B&H Photo has it available for pre-order for US$997.99 with expected availability March 23^rd, so you can probably expect it to retail for around S$1,400 when it hits our shores.
