Over a hundred queue up for South East Asia's first Apple Store iPhone launch

Despite previous reports that the upcoming iPhone X would "cannibalize" sales of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, over a hundred people, some who have been queuing since 8PM last night, gathered outside the Apple Store at Orchard Road today to be among the first people in the world to own Apple's new iPhones. This is the first time an iPhone has been launched at an official Apple Store in South East Asia.

The first person to get his new iPhone was 20-year-old Thai student Varis Sinthopruangchai, who is in Singapore on a four month exchange program.  Sinthopruangchai purchased both an iPhone 8 and an iPhone 8 Plus in 256GB storage capacity Space Grey as gifts for his parents back in Thailand. As for himself, he plans to purchase an iPhone X when it is available.
