Hot on the heels of ZTE's recent entry into the local market, Oppo Singapore announced two smartphones - the N1 Mini and Neo 5 - which will be available from August 16 at SingTel exclusive retailers, M1 exclusive distributors and authorized Oppo retailers.
Oppo N1 Mini
The N1 Mini is positioned as the more compact successor to the 5.9-inch N1. It sports a 5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels and is driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.6GHz processor with 2GB RAM.
Other specs include a 13-megapixel rotating camera, 16GB internal storage space with no memory card slot, 4G LTE connectivity, NFC, ColorOS 1.4 based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a 2,140mAh battery.
Oppo Neo 5
The Nokia Lumia 635 has met its match, which is the Oppo Neo 5. Tipped as one of the most aggressive competitor in the 4G market, the Neo 5 is equipped with a 4.5-inch TFT display (854 x 480 pixels) and is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB RAM.
As an entry-level 4G smartphone, its specs are nothing to shout about; you get ColorOS 1.4 based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, 4GB internal storage space with microSD expansion up to 32GB, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1,900mAh battery.
The N1 Mini retails for S$549 while the Neo 5 is priced at S$219. Both prices quoted here are inclusive of GST and without line contract. Below is an overview of their specs:
