Office apps for Android phones exit preview status

In January, Microsoft released Office apps for Android tablets. It then followed that up with preview versions for Android handsets in May. Today, these apps - Word, Excel, PowerPoint - have exited their preview status on the Google Play store.

For the most part, these Office apps for Android phones look the same and do the same things as the iOS versions (which have long shed their preview tags). You can access your files on your phone as well as those stored in OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, or Box, and perform on-the-go edits with tools you’re already familiar with, especially if you use Office on the desktop. These same apps will also be pre-loaded on many Android devices moving forward, thanks to Microsoft’s partnerships with various Android OEMs.
