It's been a long wait, but Microsoft has finally updated its suite of productivity apps for OS X. However, it's not quite ready for retail yet, so Microsoft is offering a free preview of its Office 2016 for Mac software now.

The preview of Office 2016 for Mac is now available as a free download. Additionally, users need not register nor sign up and can be installed and used along side Office for Mac 2011. You can download the preview here.

Office 2016 for Mac will offer full support for Retina displays and will integrate with Microsoft's other cloud apps and services such as Office 365, OneDrive and more. This means users can access documents across multiple accounts simply by signing into their Office account.

Microsoft will officially launch Office 2016 for Mac later this summer. But from now and until then, it will continue to update the preview. What are you waiting for? Download the preview now.
