Want to experience virtual reality with the Oculus Rift headset, but are hindered by your underperforming hardware?  Look no further as Oculus Ready PCs are now available for pre-order!
Oculus VR has announced its initial collection of Oculus Ready PCs from three hardware partners; ASUS, Alienware, and Dell.

The systems will be available for pre-order 17th February at 3pm SGT from Best Buy, Amazon and Microsoft Store. The most economical system is the ASUS G11CD-WS51, which is priced at US$1,499. The most expensive is the ASUS G20CD-WS51. From what we gather, the baseline system, from this initial offering, has at least 8GB of DDR4 system memory, paired with an 6th generation Intel Core i5-6400 CPU and a GeForce GTX 970 graphics card with 4GB of GDDR5 video memory. In terms of storage, a 1TB SATA HDD is the norm, but we are sure a SSD or SSD hybrid drive will ensure smoother VR gaming experience. Besides the desktop system, you will also get the Oculus Rift bundle that comprises the Oculus Rift headset, Oculus remote, sensor, and the Xbox One wireless controller.

For now, it’s safe to assume that these online stores will not ship to Singapore, so as usual, we have to adopt a wait-and-see attitude before any Oculus Ready PC hits our shores. However, if you want to get your hands dirty, you are always welcome to configure and build your own Oculus Rift-ready desktop system, but do make sure it meets or exceeds the requirements specified by Oculus VR.
