NVIDIA Announces GeForce GTX Battlebox Program

NVIDIA has just announced the GeForce GTX Battlebox program. This 4K gaming initiative is launched in collaboration with top system builders in the US. High-end desktop gaming systems are built to play "combat-focused games at super high resolutions" and with "every NVIDIA-exclusive feature enabled."

According to NVIDIA, they have also worked closely with leading game developers of titles that include Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Watch Dogs. This is to ensure the game titles operate smoothly at Ultra HD 4K resolutions of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The main reason is each GeForce GTX Battlebox PC system will feature GTX 780 or Titan graphics cards, in two- or three-way SLI configurations. Each system is also powered by a fourth generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, with high-speed memory modules and SSDs.

At the same time, an Ultra HD 4K monitor is paired with each high-end gaming system, ensuring a visual treat for the PC gamer. NVIDIA claims image quality is improved by a factor of four. This is seen in the photograph above that depicts two screenshots; the left shot is taken from a 1920 x 1080 screen, and the right is courtesy of a 4K-enabled gaming system. Currently, it appears the only 4K monitor available is the 31.5-inch ASUS PQ321Q. It will be bundled with each GeForce GTX Battlebox gaming system built by the US-based system builders. They include Falcon Northwest, Digital Storm, Maingear and Origin. For more information about this 4K gaming initiative, please head over here.
