Nokia's classic 3310 now comes with a 3G connection

Nokia's classic 3310 'dumb' phone just got a little smarter as a new version with a 3G data connection will soon be available. HMD Global, who own the rights to the Nokia brand for phones and tablets, will be launching the 3310 3G in Singapore in October in four bright colors and with a new retro user interface that has been improved to deliver an enhanced, customizable experience. And yes, it still has Snake.

“Our re-imagining of the Nokia 3310 has been a global and cultural phenomenon. In a world dominated by smartphones, the mix of nostalgia and a beautiful phone that just keeps going has captured people’s imagination. Our fans around the world have been asking for this iconic phone to support 3G. Fans asked, we listened, and today welcome the Nokia 3310 3G,” said Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global.

The iconic 3310 was re-introduced to the world at MWC 2017 earlier this year featuring a 2.4-inch QVGA color screen (“polarized and curved”), 1,200mAh battery, a 2MP camera with LED flash, 16MB internal memory, up to 51 hours MP3 playback time, and microSD card support.
