It seems like Nokia is finally ready to compete (once again) at a flagship smartphone level – popular tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks on Twitter) just offered up more details on the Nokia 8 smartphone, with a rendered image and specifications to match.

Unlike the phones announced at MWC 2017, the Nokia 8 uses flagship-tier components – its Geekbench records show a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset lying within, and it’s running on Android 7.1 OS (Nougat). This VentureBeat article goes on to describe other specs – 5.3-inch display with Quad HD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), either 4GB or 6GB RAM, and two 13-megapixels cameras with Carl Zeiss lenses.

For context, the Nokia phone brand is now handled by Finnish startup HMD Global – they currently have the rights to use the licensed Nokia name. Further details of the Nokia 8 have yet to be announced.
