Four months after its unveiling at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012, the Nokia 808 PureView has finally made its way to our sunny shores.

Starting from 7 June 2012, the Nokia 808 PureView will be available at Nokia retail stores and all three telcos at a recommended retail price of S$839 (inclusive of GST) without line contract. it will also be available at the PC Show 2012. Here's a quick refresher of the specs of the Nokia 808 PureView:

  • Nokia Belle mobile operating system
  • 4.0-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass / 640 x 360 pixels
  • 1.3 GHz single-core processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 16GB internal user memory with microSD card support up to 48GB
  • 41-megapixel camera sensor with PureView imaging technology and Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash, f/2.4 aperture lens and 1080p HD video recording
  • 123.9 x 60.2 x 13.9mm(17.95mm at camera)
  • 169g
  • 1,400mAh battery

During our hands-on with the Nokia 808 PureView at MWC 2012, we encountered no issues with the handling of the device although the large size of the camera lens caused a bulge at the top back section. Even though it is powered by a 1.3GHz single-core processor and 512MB RAM, the user experience was generally smooth.

If you want to understand how the 41-megapixel camera sensor works on the Nokia 808 PureView, do take a look at the feature article written by our resident camera reviewer who will explain the significance of megapixels and sensor sizes.
