Nikon Launches 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8 Lens for Nikon 1 Cameras

In addition to the UT-1 unit, Nikon has also introduced its new 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8 1 NIKKOR lens for the Nikon 1 line of advanced interchangeable lens digital cameras - the Nikon V1, J1 and J2.

Ideal for portrait and macro-photography scenarios, the lens holds the fastest maximum aperture in the 1 NIKKOR lineup, at f/1.8. Weighing approximately 70g, the 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8 is the lightest lens in the 1 NIKKOR lineup, and combines an aspherical lens element with the latest optical design to deliver extremely sharp rendering, beautiful background-blur effects and a 3D-like feel expected of a fixed focal length lens.

The lens’ high speed allows it to not only capture sharp, blur-free images indoors under dim lighting conditions without the need to increase ISO sensitivity, it also supports incredibly fast shutter speeds of up to 1/16,000 second; letting users fully utilise the lens' beautiful blur ability even outdoors on bright, sunny days.
