The Xbox 360 is close to seven years old, and it seems Microsoft is ready to launch a new console by next year. While the next generation Xbox won't be out by this year, sources have made the wait more bearable by revealing that the console will be six times more powerful than the Xbox 360.
Initially believed to house a GPU based on AMD's 7000 series, it's been revealed that the GPU will instead be based on the 6000 series. It will be very similar to the Radeon HD 6670, and thus will support DirectX11, 3D and 1080p HD output as well as multi-display output.
Mass production of the console will begin by the end of this year, and we should be seeing the new Xbox hitting store shelves by November next year.
