Flying to the United States is about to get a bit trickier. The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has just announced news rules that will prohibit passengers from carrying aboard uncharged electronic devices at undisclosed airports in the United States, Middle East, Europe and Africa.

The new security measures are implemented with the aim of stopping terrorist threats after reports suggest that the terrorist group, Al Qaeda, have been plotting to bring down an American airliner. Additionally, Al Qaeda's chief bomb maker has created several bombs in the past that has escaped detection.

As part of the new measures, passengers might also be asked to prove that their devices are charged by turning them on to show that they are not bombs in disguise. The TSA also said that if an initial attempt to power up fails, passengers would be allowed to use a charger. And if that fails, the device would then be confiscated.

You have been warned. The next time you are flying into the United States, do make sure your devices are charged. Alternatively, you can check out our tips for buying a portable battery pack to ensure that your devices stay charged.
