Contrary to reports of ultra-thin MacBooks with metal-injection molded hinges and new display sizes, Apple today refreshed its MacBook lineup with better specs and a new rose gold color finish.
Starting with the processor, the new MacBooks come with Intel's 6th generation Core M chipsets up to 1.3GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1GHz. They also boast faster 1866MHz memory and up to 25% faster graphics performance with the new Intel HD Graphics 515. More importantly, the new MacBooks can last one hour more (up to 10 hours of wireless web browsing and up to 11 hours of iTunes movie playback) than the previous generations.
Apple states that the new MacBooks will be available from today on its website and select Apple Authorized Resellers tomorrow. Prices start from US$1,299 for the base model (1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core m3 processor with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 2.2GHz, 8GB of memory and 256GB flash storage). We will update this article when local pricing is available.
