Every year, Apple introduces a new iPhone model to the world. And according to reports, the new iPhone is expected to have a screen that is at least 4 inches diagonally.
Ever since the iPhone's inception, Apple has stuck with a 3.5 inch screen. However, given that its competitors, Samsung and HTC, are introducing phones with larger screens, sources close to Apple have revealed that Apple too will increase the screen size of their iPhone.
Although the exact size of the new iPhone is yet to be known, sources say it will be at least 4 inches diagonally, and that Apple are currently in talks with several screen suppliers including LG, Sharp and Japan Display Inc.
A larger screen size will give the iPhone more screen real estate, which should allow developers to create more functional apps and also create a more immersive user experience, especially for gaming. The larger screen will also let Apple fit a larger battery for better lifespan.
Production of the new iPhone is expected to begin next month, with Fall being the likely period for the new phone to be launched.
