Reports indicate that Apple has just hired two engineers with an expertise in wireless charging from uBeam.

uBeam is a startup that specializes in wireless charging, specifically a technique that involves harnessing ultrasonic waves to charge devices.

There has been controversy around this technology in recent weeks, and a former engineer at uBeam claimed that this technology doesn't work and that it would not be viable in a commercial product.

Apple is no stranger to wireless charging and has filed patents in the past. A 2012 patent suggest that Apple has the means to wirelessly charge devices up to three feet (around 1 meter).

However, given the ambitiousness of Apple, they are reportedly looking at a greater range that would only require the device to be in the same room as the charging base.

In any case, what is clear is that wireless charging is feature that Apple is working on and we should expect to it feature soon in future Apple devices.
