The new Canon Pixma MG7770 wireless AIO printer is the first Canon printer to come in gold

Gone are the days when printers all came in either black or beige color casings. To attract customers, printer makers today are more than willing to try out new build material, design and color schemes. Take for example the newly announced Canon Pixma MG7770 inkjet printer. Sporting a combination of matte and glossy finishing, it’s offered in red, black, as well as gold color options.

Announced alongside the Pixma MG5770 (available in black and white) and MG3670 (available in red, black, and white), the MG7770 sets itself apart by having a 3.5-inch touchscreen color LCD panel. It’s also the fastest of the trio, with an ISO print speed of 10ipm for color and 15ipm for black and white. And a 4R photo can be churned out in about 21 seconds.

Additionally, the MG7770 features an advanced setup mechanism that reduces setup time by approximately 12 minutes (30%) compared to previous models. Android users can also opt to print and scan via NFC simply by tapping their devices on the printer body.

Of course, the MG5770 and MG3670 have their own standout features. For example, the MG3670 features an intelligent and convenient FastFront design, which makes it easy for users to replace ink cartridges and load paper quickly from the front. And like the MG7770, the MG5770 is compatible with the new PGI-770 and CI-771 series of inks that are capable of delivering higher black density and an enlarged gamut of colors on both plain and photo papers. The Pixma MG7770 is also compatible with Canon’s dedicated gray ink cartridge to enhance consistency and accuracy of printouts. For higher page yields, XL-sized ink cartridges are available.

A common feature on the printers is support for Wi-Fi Direct, which connects the printer to a smart device without the need for a router or any additional passphrase authentication. There are also services available for users who prefer direct printing from their smart devices without downloading any printing application. For example, Android users can print via the Canon Print Service plugin, while iOS users can print via the Apple AirPrint feature. The printers are also compatible with Google Cloud Print, allowing users to enjoy cloud printing anytime, anywhere.

Also available for all three models is the new and free Canon Print Inkjet/Selphy app. With it, users can easily connect their mobile devices wirelessly to the printer to enable print, scan, and copy for a seamless usage experience. A new feature on this app, Camera Scan, allows users to conveniently capture an image of their document via their mobile device and crop it accordingly before sending to print. With support for the Pixma Cloud Link service, users can also utilize the app to print from networking services such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as productivity applications such as Evernote, Dropbox, and Google Drive. This Canon Print Inkjet/Selphy app also doubles as a virtual remote LCD display and a one-stop touchpoint for managing printer settings, allowing users to view status events such as when a paper jam has occurred on the printer, or when ink levels are running low.

The Canon Pixma MG7770, MG5770, and MG3670 are now available at Canon authorized dealers at a price of S$299, S$169, and S$139 respectively.
