Small, stylish and powerful – the new Beoplay A1 speaker is perfect for tunes on the go

"We wanted to make a portable speaker that people would not leave at home. The size and shape of the speaker invites you to pick it up and bring it with you as the most natural thing.", says designer Cecilie Manz.
Certainly, at just 113 mm x 48mm and weighing just 600g, the Beoplay A1 is a speaker you can easily fit into a bag to bring you anywhere. It packs a fully active, two-way design using an aluminium cone and woofer, a ¾-inch silk dome tweeter and advanced DSP filtering to produce crisp, clear audio with a 360-degree soundscape so everyone can get in on the fun.
Also, because the aluminium cone mid-woofer features a powerful neodymium magnetic system and uses high peak power amps, the tiny speaker is able to deliver full range bass down to as low as 40Hz, impressive given its diminutive size.
The Beoplay A1 has a rechargeable 2200mAh Li-ion battery that is good for up to 24 hours of playback thanks to the use of Adaptive Power Management that feeds only the exact amount of power to the amplifiers and only when they need it. This means the power supply changes dynamically, allowing for better battery life.
The clean design of the Beoplay A1 means that only touch sensitive controls are used, rather than regular buttons, and most of the playback controls will be via your device. However, the circular connect button is a one-touch shortcut to reconnect to your last used device and to start playing the last song you heard. Going forward, software updates will be sent out so the connect button gains more functionalities, so the speaker will grow in abilities as you use it.
The Beoplay A1 will be available in two colors (Moss Green and Natural) from 9 May 2016 for S$399 from all authorized Bang & Olufsen retailers.
