Netgear has just launched its fastest desktop NAS ever - the ReadyNAS 716. The ReadyNAS 716 offers up to six bays of storage and a maximum capacity of 24TB or up to 84TB with an expansion chassis. The ReadyNAS 716 was designed for campus and business environments and is capable of supporting up to 500 concurrent users.

In total, the ReadyNAS 716 will offer two 10 GbE and an additional two GbE network links. Together with its 3.2GHz quad-core Xeon processor and 16GB of ECC RAM, Netgear says that the ReadyNAS 716 can serve up to 150 1080p video streams simultaneously, if your network is up to it.

The ReadyNAS 716 is available now at a recommended retail price of US$4500.
