Introducing the new DJI OSMO: a handheld, stabilized 4K camera

Your smartphone becomes the screen for the Osmo.

Soon after the release of the ZenMuse X5 camera, the engineers at DJI have come up with yet another revolutionary product- a handheld camera with integrated stabilizer that allows for steady video regardless of the filming conditions.

The Osmo is built to be modular, but comes standard with a 4K, 12-megapixel camera with a 1/ 2.3” sensor and a 94o field-of-view lens so you’re good to go from the start. More advanced users can also pick up the handle separately and mount any of the Zenmuse series cameras on it, making it the perfect accessory for the DJI Inspire 1.

Controls are built right into the grip of the handle.

Hold it in any variety of angles; the Osmo's stabilizer will still give you steady footage.

Here are some of the main functions available:

Controls are built into the handle of the Osmo, and an included smartphone holder allows you a way to easily control the camera via the DJI GO app, which gives you a live HD video feed right on your smart phone. The handle also comes equipped with an on-board stereo microphone and a 3.5mm audio jack so you can plug in your own microphone for even higher quality audio recording.

  • Panorama – Just set the camera to Automatic Panorama mode, set the shutter speed, and hold the Osmo above your head. The camera will rotate, taking pictures as it goes while staying perfectly level, giving you a perfect 360o panorama.
  • Long Exposure – Take full advantage of the camera’s 3-axis stabilization to get long exposures without a tripod. The stabilization system is so good you can get freehand stills of up to two seconds, or even capture a timelapse or hyperlapse without the use of a tripod.
  • Slow motion – The Osmo’s camera captures slow motion shots at 120fps at up to 1080p FHD resolution. This footage can be easily downloaded on edited on your smart phone, and then shared through Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr – right from within the DJI Go app itself.
