Motorola Has Some "Phenomenal" Products in the Pipeline
Motorola managed to stay under the radar for quite some time until yesterday when Google chairman Eric Schmidt shed some light on the latest developments in the company.
According to AllThingsD, Schmidt claims that Motorola's next generation of products are going to be "phenomenal" and consumers can expect to see them "sooner rather than later". Schmidt also referred these products as "phones-plus" without going into specific details about them.
AllThingsD - "They have a new set of products, which are phenomenal,” he told Ina Fried and Liz Gannes at D: Dive into Mobile today. “Very, very impressive.”
Google's CEO and Senior VP Patrick Pichette previously mentioned that Motorola's current crop of mobile devices were not up to the standards of "innovative" and "transformative". The company apparently hired former Apple Chief Evangelist Guy Kawasaki as an advisor to the Motorola brand to focus on “product design, user interface, marketing, and social media”.
The "phenomenal" devices may turn out to be the "X" mobile devices that Google and Motorola are alleged to be working on, which include a "X" phone and a "X" tablet. Telstra Chief Technology Officer, Hugh Bradlow reportedly told senior mobile staff that the "X" phone will be a "game changer". It is rumored to be unveiled at next month's Google I/O.
