Besides the MSI GT72 Dominator Pro Tobii gaming notebook with its eye tracking technology, there were also a couple of notable notebooks on show at CES 2016. The old GS70 Stealth gets a refresh with the new GS72 Stealth Pro 4K gaming notebook, which boasts of thickness of 19.8mm. This makes it one of the slimmest 17-inch gaming notebooks on the market now. The GS72 Stealth Pro boasts of a 17.3-inch 4K display with a resolution of 3840 x by 2160 pixels. There’s also a non-4K variant that comes with a full HD display.

Its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M graphics chipset, with 3GB of GDDR5, is the main driving force behind the system’s gaming capabilities. In terms of audio experience, the laptop features Nahimic sound technology, delivering sounds over a pair of Dynaudio speakers with woofer. The main storage device of the gaming notebook is its 2.5-inch HDD. Optional storage options include a PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD or a hybrid HDD. Like its contemporaries, the GS72 Stealth Pro is powered by the latest 6th generation Intel Core i7 mobile CPU, and supports up to 32GB of DDR4-2133 system memory. Other familiar features include a full-sized SteelSeries keyboard, and Killer network connectivity, both wired and wireless. The laptop tips the scale at 2.6kg.

If the GS72 Stealth Pro is too hefty for your liking, there’s the 14-inch GS40 Phantom, which was seen locally at last year's Sitex. It is also powered by the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M graphics chipset, with 3GB of GDDR5. Besides its display specifications, another difference from the GS72 is support for Thunderbolt 3 technology with its USB Type-C port. Sadly, the GS72 doesn’t feature this port. The GS40 Phantom is powered by the latest mobile Skylake CPUs, and accommodate up to 32GB of DDR4-2133 RAM.

There’s also a choice of Windows 10 Pro or Windows 7 Pro for its operating system. As for the other two lowly specced systems; the WS72 6QI and the WS72 6QH, they are powered by the 6th generation Intel Core mobile CPUs. They feature the NVIDIA Quadro M1000M, and the M600M graphics chipsets respectively. The WS72 workstations are certified to work with professional software titles from Autodesk, Adobe, PTC Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Maya, and Revit.
