More Details of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

While AMD is busily prepping their new Northern Islands cards, NVIDIA themselves are busy at work too preparing their 512 core GeForce GTX 580. With AMD's high-end Cayman parts due to be released some time later this month, NVIDIA is anxious to get their GeForce GTX 580 out. And according to rumors, to really up the ante, the GeForce GTX 580 will be running on higher clocks speeds compared to the older GTX 480. However, because of some optimizations, the card's rated TDP will allegedly be lower.

Fudzilla - According to a new leak, Nvidia's GF110 based GTX 580 should launch next Tuesday, November 9th. Although the specs have been rumoured for quite some time, we can now be pretty sure that the card will end up with 512 SPs, 128 TMUs and should work at clocks that are significantly higher than on the GF100-based GTX 480.

Word on the street is that the card will be officially released next week, but, as usual, take these leaks with a pinch of salt. To read the original article, click here.
