More Details of 8.9-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Revealed Before CTIA

One more day to CTIA, and more details of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has been revealed. The third tablet from Samsung has been reported to have a slim profile much like Apple's iPad 2, and it seems like the reports were true. According to Engadget, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 measures in at just 0.33-inches, or approximately 8.4mm in thickness. That puts it slightly (really, it's negligible) than the iPad 2's 8.8mm profile.

Engadget - You didn't have any doubt that Samsung was going to bring its new Galaxy Tab 8.9 to CTIA, did you? Well, this thing is definitely coming very soon. We snuck onto the show floor this afternoon, and while we didn't find the actual tablet, there was a serious amount of Galaxy Tab 8.9 signage. We couldn't get a close look at the placards, but the guys at PocketNow had better luck.

Though the Galaxy Tab 8.9 preloades Google Android 3.0, aka Honeycomb, within its body, word has it that Samsung will be planting their own user interface enhancement upon the tablet, such as a Live Panel and Mini App tray. We'll know more when Samsung makes the official announcement at CTIA.

In the meantime, check out the full story here.
