Microsoft wants more SMBs to install Windows 10

In case you missed it, Windows 10 is now active on over 200 million devices. Of course, with a target of 1 billion active installs in around three years, Microsoft isn’t going to let up on its push.

Now, Microsoft has announced how it’s going to bring its ‘Get Windows 10’ campaign to small businesses and other small organizations. If you remember, Get Windows 10 (GWX) is this app that Microsoft is using on Windows 7 and 8.1 PCs to notify consumers (somewhat aggressively, too) about the Windows 10 upgrade offer. The biggest difference this time round is GWX is coming to domain-joined PCs.

To be clear, not all organizations with domain-joined PCs will see GWX. At the moment, only smaller ones with PCs running Windows 7 Pro or Windows 8.1 Pro, configured to receive updates directly from Windows Update, and are members of an Active Directory domain will start to see the GWX taskbar icon. If your domain-joined PCs get their updates via Windows Server Update Services or System Center Configuration Manager, you will not see GWX. Large corporations running Windows Enterprise edition or using onsite updating tools will also not get GWX.

IT pros who don’t want the staff’s PCs to get the GWX app can check out Microsoft’s KB3080351 that details Windows 10’s notification and upgrade options; updates can be blocked using the Group Policy Object.

New Windows 10 Mobile and PC test builds for Windows Insiders

And for what it's worth, there are now new preview builds for Windows 10 Mobile (10586.63; which is different from 10586.36) and Windows 10 PC (11099). As usual, there are no major new changes or additions.
