Microsoft resumes Windows 10 preview program with Build 10525 for PCs

The best thing about Windows as a service is that it gets updated continuously, with bugs being squashed and new features added. Today, Microsoft has dropped Build 10525 of its Windows 10 Insider Preview for PCs for testers on the Fast ring, the first preview build since the OS is made generally available end of last month.

After gathering a lot of feedback, Build 10525 now allows you to change the color for Start, Action Center, Taskbar, and Title bars. Off by default, you can turn it on under Settings > Personalization > Colors. There are also improvements made to Memory Manager, presumably to the compression store implementation that’s used to keep more apps in physical memory by compressing unused pages (instead of writing to disk).

As always, as with every new test build, there are unresolved bugs. In Build 10525, the mobile hotspot function doesn’t work; there’s an issue with video playback in the Movies & TV app; and optional language packs are missing till later this week.
