Microsoft may unveil a Surface AIO PC as soon as October

Rumor has it that Microsoft will debut a Surface all-in-one PC in late October. This machine, reportedly codenamed “Cardinal”, would be part of a hardware launch planned for next month in New York City.

Reports surfaced earlier this year that Microsoft was working on three new Surface devices planned for 2017, in addition to another one planned for release in 2016. There’s also news that Microsoft has been testing different Surface AIOs, including 21-, 24-, and 27-inch models, so a Surface AIO launch next month appears fairly plausible. According to ZDNet, the upcoming Surface is being positioned as a product that turns users' desks into a "studio", which lends further credence to the idea of an AIO system.

However, it’s not clear at this point what else Microsoft will show at next month’s event, although minor refreshes to existing devices with faster processors are possible. For that matter, the event hasn’t even been officially announced, so this is all just pure speculation at the moment.
