Microsoft kills Outlook.com Premium, brings features to Office 365

Microsoft has today announced that it’s bringing premium Outlook.com features to Office 365 Home and Office 365 Personal subscribers. These features include an ad-free experience, additional mailbox storage (50GB if you’re already using more than 12GB), and improved malware protection.

Additionally, Microsoft says Outlook.com Premium is now closed to new subscribers. If you try to sign up for Outlook.com Premium now, it'll re-direct you to get Office 365.

Current Outlook.com Premium subscribers can still renew their subscriptions, but I think it’s only a matter of time Microsoft discontinues it. The only good reason to keep your Outlook.com Premium subscription is if you use its custom domain feature to get a personalized email address.

Microsoft:

We’re working on a solution that will enable you to transfer your domain to other providers. For now you should continue to renew your Outlook.com Premium subscription to retain control of your domain and to continue using your personalized email address.

Good knowing you, Outlook.com Premium.
