It's been a long wait, but the successor to the ground-breaking Veyron is finally here. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the new Bugatti Chiron.

Like the Veyron, the new Chiron is incredibly powerful and mind-blowingly fast. Featuring a W16 engine with four turbochargers, the Chiron puts out nearly 1500 horsepower and 1600nm of torque, These are numbers that will put hypercars like the McLaren P1 and Ferarri LaFerrari to shame.

You know the car is fast when the speedometer goes up to 500km/h. (Image source: Bugatti)

What this means for the lucky owners of this car is that 0-100km/h will be dealt with in under 2.5 seconds. It can also reach 200km/h from zero in just 6.5 seconds - most cars won't even hit 100km/h in that time. Top speed, should you be bold enough to attempt, is limited to 261mph or about 420km/h

Sure, there are faster cars around, like the Koenigsegg Agera and Hennessey Venom, but the Chiron does it all in style. The interior is lined with plush leather and garnished with lovely metal bits all around.

Who cares about weight-savings when we got so much power? (Image source: Bugatti)

It even has a usable boot and comes with specially designed matching bags for its owner to use on weekend jaunts. In fact, the new Chiron is so luxuriously equipped that it weighs over 150kg heavier than the Veyron.

If you like what you see, you had better act fast because only 500 units of the Chiron will be made. Each will set you back €2.4 million or S$3.67 million, excluding taxes. Gulp.
