Maybank comes on board for Samsung Pay in Singapore

Samsung Electronics Singapore has announced that beginning August 31, Maybank credit or debit cardmembers will be able to make transactions at merchant locations across Singapore using Samsung Pay on their compatible Samsung smartphones.

To recap, Samsung Pay is accepted at the vast majority of merchants wherever Mastercard or Visa is accepted, and is not limited to merchants that have updated to contactless terminals. That’s because Samsung Pay supports both MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) technology and NFC (Near Field Communication). At the moment, Samsung Pay works with Samsung handsets like the Galaxy Note 7, S7 Edge and S7, and S6 Edge+ and Note 5. In addition to using your fingerprint or pin to make payments, if you’ve the new Note 7, you can also use its iris scanning feature to securely authenticate your Samsung Pay transactions.
