M1 Partners IDA to Install AG Boxes at Bus Stops, Parks, and Traffic Junctions

M1 is collaborating with IDA (Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore) to enable government agencies to deploy smart devices and services at non-building sites such as bus stops, parks, and traffic junctions, swiftly and affordably.

As part of the Smart Nation Platform, M1 will progressively install a number of Above Ground (AG) Boxes within the Jurong Lake District.

AG Boxes are connected to a 100Mbps enterprise-class fibre line, as well as supplying electrical power and space to house multiple computer servers. This will enable the installation of smart devices requiring computing and connectivity, such as sensors, cameras or electronic signages, at outdoor locations without having to dig up the road to access the fibre network, hiring a power generator, or being located near to a building.
