The rumor mill on the Samsung Galaxy S5 is going into full swing as there is another report on a possible launch event in mid-March.

According to an Italian journalist, Flavio, a reliable source told him that Samsung will be holding a global launch event in London "in a mid-March date". There have been numerous reports on the launch date for the Galaxy S5, most of which turn out to be inaccurate.

Korean media outlets reported last October that they received information from within Samsung that the Galaxy S5 will be launched this month and hit retail shelves in February. We haven't heard or receive any information from Samsung on a launch event, hence it is unlikely that the device will be launched in January.

Korean news site inews24 claimed that Dong-hoon Chang, the EVP and Head of Design Team for Samsung’s IT and Mobile Communications division confirmed a launch of the smartphone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 next month.

For the past two years, Samsung has always held its own launch event for the Galaxy S smartphone. The Galaxy S III was unveiled at a London event in May 2012 while the Galaxy S4 was announced in New York last March.

Flavio's claims coincide with Bloomberg's report on a launch period around March and April. Apparently, Lee Young Hee, the executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business revealed the details to Bloomberg during an interview earlier this month.
