Logitech unveils ultra-fast G402 Hyperion Fury FPS gaming mouse

Logitech has just announced the G402 Hyperion Fury Ultra-fast FPS gaming mouse, which it claims is the fastest gaming mouse available on the market today. The Hyperion Fury features Logitech’s exclusive Fusion Engine sensor technology that can reportedly reliably track over 500 inches per second (IPS). The mouse is aimed at FPS gamers, with Ehtisham Rabbani, general manager of the Logitech gaming business, saying “We took on the challenge of creating the world’s fastest mouse in service of FPS gamers, and after three years of intensive R&D we are proud to launch a mouse that only Logitech could develop."

According to Logitech, the 32-bit on-board ARM processor-powered Fusion Engine solves a problem many FPS gamers have: their mouse can't track movement as fast as they can move. But by combining state-of-the-art optical sensor technology with an accelerometer and gyroscope, the Fusion Engine provides unmatched tracking speed. While it's entirely possible that the gamers Logitech are talking to are The Flash and Quicksilver, as personally we've never actually encountered this problem, nevertheless 500 inches per second tracking does sound pretty impressive.

The Hyperion Fury boasts 8 programmable buttons and adjustable DPI as low as 240 or as high as 4000. The mouse is expected to be available in Singapore from mid-August 2014, for a suggested retail price of $65.00.
