Litl Extends Woven Photo-Viewing App to Samsung Smart TVs

First unveiled on mobile platforms, photo-viewing app Woven by litl is now extended to Samsung's suite of Smart TVs as well. In collaboration with the South Korean CE firm, litl's Woven app enables users to project images from computers, smartphones, Facebook, Flickr and other applications onto the big screen.

To navigate, simply tap through the photos on the mobile device to view them on the Smart TV.

"Everyone enjoys solo photo browsing on their phone or tablet, but viewing and storytelling with loved ones is much more social and engaging on a large screen,” said Jack Harvey, litl’s EVP of Strategy and Development. "In collaboration with Samsung, it’s exciting to deliver a simple and fun viewing experience on both a consumer’s smallest and largest screens."

To use Woven, users are required to download a free mobile app for their Android or iOS devices as well as the companion app for the Samsung Smart TV or web-connected Blu-ray player. Both apps are then securely paired to transform a user’s smartphone or tablet into a remote control of sorts to manage the photos on the TV screen.

Woven for Samsung Smart TV will make its appearance in the U.S. and Canada before trickling down to other regions. The free app is currently available on Samsung's app store, and it is said to be compatible with Samsung's 2011 and 2012 range of Smart TVs and Blu-ray players.

The mobile Woven app with Smart TV support, however, is already available on Google Play, iTunes, BN.com, Amazon.com, and Windows Phone's app store. But do note that the Windows Phone version does not support TV viewing as yet.
