While most rumors and reports talked about two Apple iPhone 6 models, one accessory maker seems to think otherwise.

According to the listings on XtremeGuard's website, Apple will release four different iPhone 6 models this year. They are the iPhone 6 and 6C in two different screen options (4.7 and 5.5-inches). It all sounds a bit too far-fetched, right?

If you recall, Apple introduced two different iPhone models - the iPhone 5S and 5C - for the first time last year. Contrary to earlier reports that the iPhone 5C is an entry-level model, Apple CEO Tim Cook mentioned that he sees it as a mid-tier device.

If this turns out to be true, it is possible that the iPhone 6C is targeted at the mid-tier market segment while the iPhone 6 will tackle the more competitive, high-end segment. Apple is expected to make an official announcement on the new iPhones in early September with retail availability slated for September 19. Consumers can also expect a thinner iPad Mini Air later this year.
