*Update 1: According to Samsung Tomorrow, the Samsung Galaxy S and 7-inch Galaxy Tab tablet will not be upgraded to Android 4.0 as they lack sufficient RAM and ROM to run the new operating system.
It is unfortunate that the Galaxy S will not be upgraded even though it has similar specifications to the Nexus S. Samsung claimed that the former has to deliver TouchWiz and other country-specific features such as mobile TV.
Following Google's release of Android 4.0 update for the Nexus S, Samsung also announced a list of Galaxy devices that are receiving the Android 4.0 update in 2012. The Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II will be the first two devices to be upgraded in Q1 2012, followed by:
Samsung will make separate announcements on the schedule and availability of updates for each market according to market situation and carrier's requirement. Other Android vendors such as HTC, Motorola, Huawei and LG also unveiled upgrade plans for their respective mobile devices.
