LG unveils G3 Beat with 5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 400 and 8MP rear camera

 

LG Electronics today unveiled the G3 Beat, its answer to the HTC One Mini 2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini.

Positioned as a mid-tier smartphone, the G3 Beat sports a 5-inch 720p IPS display with thin bezels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and LG's redesigned user interface.

Other specs include 8GB internal storage, a microSD memory card slot, an 8-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera, a removable 2,540mAh battery and 4G LTE connectivity. It measures 137.7 x 69.6 x 10.3mm and weighs 134g.

The G3 Beat will be launched in South Korea tomorrow, and a global rollout in the coming weeks is slated for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries. The G3 Beat is renamed G3 s in Europe and the CIS. At press time, LG Singapore has no confirmation on any plans to launch the device here.
