Rumors of LG testing out metal on "niche models" got us excited on the possibility that we would be seeing a metal-clad flagship smartphone this year. However, that will remain a dream as LG unveiled a midrange smartphone with a slim metal chassis.

Officially known as the LG Class, the Android 5.1.1-powered smartphone comes with a 5-inch 720p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage space with microSD support, a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing fixed focus camera, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and a 2,050mAh battery.

The LG Class will be available in South Korea in the coming weeks and will retail for 399,300 won (~S$477). There is no word on its availability outside of the Korean market, but we reckon that LG will release a global variant soon.
