LG G3 to Come with a 2K Display and the Company’s Own ‘Odin’ Chip?

Will the LG G2's successor sport a 2K display?

After a phone with rear controls and a stepped battery and a phone with a flexible curved display and a curved battery - what’s next for LG? According to ZDNet Korea (Google translated), the Korean company’s next flagship is the G3, and it’d come with a QHD (that is, 2K) display. The size is unknown, but we'll put our money on the 5.5-inch AH-IPS LCD that LG unveiled back in August.

Besides this 2,560 x 1,440-pixel display, the G3 purportedly also comes with a 16-megapixel camera, and the often-rumored-but-yet-to-be-seen octa-core 2.2GHz ‘Odin’ chip designed by LG itself. (As a side note, earlier this year, LG has licensed the next-gen ARM Cortex-A50 series, as well as next-gen Mali GPUs.)

Speaking of 2K smartphones, home town rival Samsung is also rumored to be preparing one for a Mobile World Congress reveal. And Chinese pair Vivo and Oppo have already jumped onto this 2K bandwagon.
