LG files trademarks for four new smartwatches and Watch Pay

LG is gearing up for major product launches next year with a string of trademark applications with the E.U.

The Korean company filed a total of four trademark applications for smartwatches, which are "Watch Style", "Watch Pro", "Watch Force" and "Watch Sole".  The descriptions of the trademarks state "watches that communicate data to PDAs; smartphones for wrists".

It also filed a trademark for its upcoming mobile payment service, "Watch Pay" which is described as a "mobile payment application (software) for smartphone; payment application software for mobile phones; computer application programs for mobile; mobile payment application (software) for smartwatch". This is in line with an earlier report on the rollout of the mobile payment service in 2017 which will be using MST technology.
