LG CEO describes the iPhone SE as "same-old technology and features"

The latest Apple iPhone SE may be appealing to consumers who are looking for a premium 4-inch handset, but LG CEO Cho Ju-no is not impressed with it.

Speaking to the media at the G5 launch event in Seoul, Cho states that it is not the company's way to roll out a product with "same-old technology and features" which is in reference to the iPhone SE. He took the chance to highlight the G5's modular design which allows consumers to have several ways to have fun.

Korea Times - "LG Electronics does not care seriously about rankings, at the moment, as we are focused on making sure the new device provides consumers a variety of options to have fun," Cho said. "By combining fun and imaginative elements, we are sure to overcome market uncertainties."

Cho also shared some of the company's plans for this year. LG Pay, the company's mobile payment service, is slated to be rolled out as early as the first half of this year. As for the module-based design of the G5, Cho said that the company has not decided whether future models will adopt the same design and be compatible with the G5 modules.

The LG G5 will be available in Singapore next month at S$988, and will come in colors Titan, Pink, and Gold.
