LG Announces Optimus F5 and F7 Smartphones Ahead of MWC 2013

LG Mobile unveiled two Optimus F series smartphones that are expected to bridge the gap between the Optimus L and Optimus G lineups. The LG Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of box and will also come with 4G LTE-capable variants.

The LG Optimus F5 is clocked by a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal memory. It sports a 4.3-inch qHD display with 540 x 960 pixels. It is built with a a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Its power source is a 2,150mAh battery.

The LG Optimus F7 is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It is bigger than the Optimus F5 with 4.7-inch HD IPS display having 720 x 1,280 pixels. It comes with an 8-megapixel rear shutter and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera similar to the Optimus F5. Its juice comes from a 2,540mAh battery.

Both smartphones are expected to be released by the second quarter of 2013 (the Optimus F5 will start in Europe while the Optimus F7 will be available in selected markets). Exact dates, prices, and other details will be made clear in the coming weeks.
